I'm opening a new blog.
I've participated in social media since its inception. While I've learned a lot from my remote friendships, I think it's fair to say that political discussion is tricky there. There is too much reliance on the I'm-right-and-here's-why posture, and not enough here's-what-I-think-at-the-moment-what's-your-take approach.

So, I'm opening this blog, Deep End Of..., with that in mind. The idea is to select a particularly divisive topic, and ramble on for a few minutes with the questions in my mind on that topic, entreating replies from my readers. Such participants are encouraged to take Socrates' and Bill Nye's words to heart.
